Health is defined as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity according to the WHO. Ultimately, health is defined as the state of an animal or living body, in which the parts are sound, well organized and disposed, and in which they all perform freely their natural functions, according to the KJV (1828).
Aims/objectives:
To empower people through health by building accessible health facilities, improve general wellbeing, and provide health education to the community to encourage growth and development. To provide a platform for health professionals to build and positively impact their community and beyond.
Health is then divided into three categories:
a) Promoting wellbeing.
b) Mental health in people.
c) Health facilities.
Vision:
Construction of permanent Health infrastructure in the area to empower though partnerships with the community by lessening the load of healthcare, general wellbeing, and mortality rates due to inaccessible healthcare facilities and professionals.
A grade 4 Hospital encompasses various departments and areas to provide comprehensive medical services to the locals and beyond. This includes inpatient and outpatient rooms, operating theatres, emergency departments, diagnostic imaging areas, laboratories, administrative offices, and support services.
In SALMAT 25 Health department, we have a mission to empower communities through the physical healing and Spiritual wholeness. As in the Gospel of Matthew, we learn that Jesus travelled to many towns and villages, preaching the good news of God’s kingdom, and “healing every kind of disease and sickness (Matt 4:23).”
Health projects
Sponsoring the training of healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, counsellors, and paediatricians. Also, basic first aid training for local people within the community to increase knowledge and skills to equip the local people.
In addition, carrying health outreaches through 3-days medical camps in various areas of the country would serve as temporary relief to these communities and inspire betterment of general health services.
Drop-in clinic sessions or outreaches for specific health sessions such as mental health, managing pain & medication, pregnancy/antenatal, immunisations, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and sexual health.
Ensuring availability of safe and clean water to community by maximising natural water sources, national water system, and encouraging water harvesting systems.
Health aid
In the SALMAT 25 health department, we welcome all health aid such as mosquito nets, sanitary items, first aid kits, books & resources on health literature, immunisation and tanks storing clean water or water taps installation.
